vertical garden /vɜ:tɪkəl ˈgadn/

(countable noun) Usage note: This is the usual term used by all speakers.

A garden which grows vertically on a wall or fence. For example, pots of soil with plants in may be attached to a wall or fence, or a special type of growing system may be used which does not need soil.

Example: These days you can get vertical garden modules to attach to walls. These are light weight and use a hydroponic system to water and feed the plants. (http://www.tophedge.com.au/Landscaping_News.php?blog_archive=2010-02)
