deli  /'deli/

(countable noun) (informal) Usage note: This is the usual term used by all speakers.

Short for ‘delicatessen’, which is a small shop selling a range of things including food, non-alcoholic drinks and cleaning products.

Example: Just next door is a little local deli that sells the sort of ham that makes your mouth water. (http://www.abc.net.au/unleashed/stories/s2539495.htm)
