brekkie /ˈbrɛki/

(noun) Usage note: This term is used by many speakers.

Short for ‘breakfast’, which is the first meal of the day. Typical Australian breakfast dishes are cereal with milk; toast with jam or Vegemite and coffee, tea or fruit juice. A hot breakfast often includes bacon and eggs.

Example: no chance of a peaceful morning tomorrow - i've even got my sons girlfriend staying over tonight to help with the brekkie in bed (urgh! - soggy Weetbix and cold toast - the best thing any mum can ask for lol)...
