Royal Adelaide Show /rɔɪəl ædəleɪd 'ʃoʊ/

(countable noun) Usage note: This term is used by all speakers. However, the term is often shortened to ‘the Show’.

A week-long annual agricultural (farming) show, at which you can see animals, flowers, cakes, artwork and other produce. People compete to win prizes for their animals and for the things they have made. There are also events for horses, pig racing and games. Children in particular enjoy buying show bags, which contain many different items ranging from lollies (sweets) to Australian Rules football items.

Example: If there is any other way that we can make the Royal Adelaide Show a fun day out for the family, let us know. (
