Christmas Pageant /krɪsməs ˈpædʒənt/

(countable noun) Usage note: This is the usual term used by all speakers.

A big parade with lots of decorated vehicles, marching bands, people in fancy dress, and music. Adelaide holds a Christmas pageant in November every year to welcome Father Christmas to the city.

Example: With 61 floats and just over 170 moving performing sets in the Credit Union Christmas Pageant, there is something for everyone. There are fairytale and fantasy floats, colourful clowns, bands, dancers and other magical characters all leading the final float - Father Christmas atop his beautiful sleigh.
